JavaScript

JavaScript is a scripting language, originally developed by Netscape, and now an ECMA standard. Microsoft's version is called JScript.

  • JavaScript is often used to write scripts which run inside the visitors' web browsers, and are either embedded in, or linked from HTML pages.

  • Not all web browsers support JavaScript. Even some users which a JavaScript compatible browser, may have JavaScript turned off.

  • There can be differences between the versions of JavaScript support in different web browsers. Consequently, the scripts need to be carefully written, if they are to work in all the most common web browsing software.

Please use the menu on the left to navigate within the JavaScript section of this web site.
