HTML

HTML is the language used to layout web pages.

HTML has evolved over time, so there are several slightly different versions in use.
Users with different web browsers may see particular web pages differently. In some cases, a page containing an error in its code may not display at all in some browsers!
It's generally a good idea to check your web pages at least display reasonably with the most common web browsers.
